CLIVEDEN HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Welcome back to the blog! :)

You might know by now that I’m a huge fan of Cliveden House and every time I work there, I’m blessed with the most spectacular weddings. Remember Natalie & Daniel romantic two days wedding at Cliveden House previously featured on the blog?

Working as a Luxury Wedding Photographer at Cliveden House is always a privilege and this exclusive three days wedding of Torey & Glenn, as seen on Wedded Wonderland, was an absolute dream from start to finish. Another fantastic wedding for the books :)

Torey and Glenn live in Chicago, USA but wanted to hold their wedding in the UK where Glenn grew up. They liked the idea of finding a quintessentially British venue to provide the backdrop to their special day and also one which is hard to find in the States.  The grand and luxurious Cliveden House was the perfect place, the former home of Earls and Princes and of Nancy Astor who made it a meeting place for political intellectuals in the 1920s and 30s. Later the house famously became the setting for the notorious Profumo affair!

The luxury Wedding and Event Planners Cranberry Blue worked alongside Torey and Glenn to design and plan the three-day production of events, from beginning to end. It was important to the couple that their guests, many of whom had flown in from around the world, were made to feel special from the moment they arrived and Torey and Glenn had taken exclusive use of the house for the weekend to ensure the experience felt even more special.

Friday – Welcome Event

The celebrations began on the Friday with a relaxed afternoon tea at the delightful ‘Spring Cottage’ which is situated in the grounds of the house but next to the river.  Luck was on their side as the weather was incredible so everyone could relax and enjoy the sunshine and fabulous entertainment.  Guests were then invited to take a scenic tour along the river in the form of a boat trip; the roving entertainment accompanied them onto the boat where the party really got going!

Following the boat trip, guests were able to have a short break to freshen up and change before making their way onto the pavilion terrace for a relaxed BBQ, which overlooks the stunning formal gardens at the back of the property. Cranberry Blue worked in conjunction with Production Company Bespoke London to design and create an impressive fairy light structure that guests could walk into and feel as though they were amongst thousands of stars.  Entertainment was again a key factor for the evening and caricaturists caused much hilarity as did world-class magician and illusionist ‘Maddox’.  The evening celebrations continued late into the night where guests were treated to music performed by an Elton John tribute band, followed by an 11 piece showband!

Saturday – Wedding Day

To ensure everyone had time to nurse their hangovers, the ceremony didn’t begin until 1pm.  The set up was luxurious and romantic with florists Wild About creating a beautiful rustic floral pergola made from silver birch cascading with garden garlands of roses, hydrangeas, astilbe, stocks and wax flower. This provided the main focal point for the ceremony and the chairs were arranged in a semi-circular shape to create an intimate feeling for everyone involved.

The drinks reception was held on the terrace area where Victorian style circus acts entertained the guests, alongside two elegant showgirls who provided a short performance.  Guests then made their way into the wedding breakfast, having found where they were sitting on the statement mirrored table plan which was adorned with flowers.  The main room itself had been completely transformed and the long tables had spectacular table floral canopies hanging from above so that guests felt as though they were surrounded by flowers.  A mixture of roses, hydrangea, spray roses, stocks, sweet peas and white lilac were used which also gave off a beautiful aroma.  On the tables themselves, gold mirrored runners were in the centre with a selection of antique gold pots trailed along. The place settings consisted of gold rimmed charger plates and glassware alongside gold cutlery all from Duchess & Butler with elegant gold foiled menus from Emily & Jo and bespoke soft gold chairs from Furniture4events to complete the look.

At varying points throughout the meal, the incredible Function Band kept everyone’s energy levels up – the atmosphere in the room was electric and many of the guests were standing on chairs and singing along which isn’t something you often see during a wedding breakfast!

Torey wore a stunning Vera Wang gown and bespokely designed diamond jewellery which had been a present from Glenn on the morning of the wedding, and in fact, delivered to Cliveden by an armed guard.  In the evening, Torey changed into a striking Oscar de la Renta black ruffled dress. Torey was pampered by the talented Mariam Jensen and Severin Hairstylist.

As the light began to fade and the celebrations moved into the evening, the Function Band made sure the dancefloor was continually packed.  A fun photo booth was subtlety installed in the library to keep the children amused and a cigar roller kept the men happy.  Although the party went on until late into the night, a show-stopping firework display by Shellshock was one of the last surprises of the day.

Sunday – The day after

The final day of events was extremely relaxed as guests took their time to have breakfast if they wanted to, or they chose to wait until the official brunch in the courtyard. Guests then enjoyed various spa treatments and the beautiful surroundings of the house.
