TUSCANY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – CASTELFALFI RESORT

Hello again and today we’re taking a look back at a beautiful wedding in Tuscany from September last year. I love working as a wedding photographer in Italy and this intimate wedding in Tuscany had it all. If you take a look through the rest of this feature, you’ll see what I mean…

Ross proposed to Ruth in Florence in 2015 so it was only fitting that they returned to Italy for their Tuscan wedding. Ruth and Ross were such a wonderful couple to work with and I think they smiled all through their celebrations.

And what celebrations they were! Working with the super talented wedding planners Wedding In Tuscany, Ruth and Ross organised three days of festivities at the Castelfalfi Resort in the beautiful Tuscan hills. There was a welcome party, wedding party and a BBQ and I know that Ruth and Ross are still praising the food. Well, what else would you expect from a wedding in Italy ?!

Working with a colour scheme that included pinks, greens and golden touches, Ruth’s four bridesmaids wore mint green and that looked amazing in this setting. The bride’s oh-so sweet niece took the role of flowergirl and she LOVED her ivory dress. Ruth’s dress, from a Polish designer, was sourced through the wonderful Truly Gorgeous bridal boutique in Chichester, Sussex.

Ross wore a custom made navy suit from a tailor based in the City. The best man and Ruth’s nephews matched the groom with their blue outfits. Total coordination and it looked fantastic.

The wedding ceremony itself was held in the gorgeous grounds of the Castelfalfi resort and the mayor of the region himself conducted the ceremony. I was in heaven as an Italian wedding photographer because, of course, I didn’t need to listen to the translator so was able to totally pre-empt what was happening!

It was such a shame that it started to rain just as we started the couples portraits and the planned outdoor dinner had to be moved inside. However, the rain didn’t dampen the atmosphere at all and we did manage to grab a few photos outside. This isn’t something a wedding photographer in Italy has to worry about very often!

Ruth and Ross worked with Alix Muir, a wedding singer from the UK for their entertainment. Alix has the most stunning voice and she made the ceremony and the evening reception even more memorable. I wish I could have captured her voice with my camera!

After the delicious dinner, DJ Simone Alinari got the party started and every guest was on the dancefloor when I left the celebrations. Ruth and Ross report that they danced with their guests all night long.
