ELOPEMENT IN TUSCANY AT VILLA MEDICEA DI LILLIANO

Back in the summer, I shared this gorgeous pre-wedding photography session with you. Held at the stunning Villa Medicea di Lilliano in Tuscany, it was super popular with my readers and was also a huge hit when the images were featured on Wedding Chicks too. Today, I’m beyond happy to be able to share the wedding with you and I have no doubt that you’re going to fall in love with this Tuscan elopement

As a romantic wedding photographer in Tuscany, I should be used to beautiful weddings but this elopement took my breath away. Villa Medicea di Lilliano provided an exquisite backdrop for this alfresco celebration. Tuscany in early spring is a very special place and the Villa, with its gardens, lemon trees, peony bushes and antique roses welcomed Lucy and Mark with open arms.

The colour palette is very much inspired by Tuscan spring colours and wedding stylist Natalia Music Weddings paired pale blue, glazed terracotta-like greys with whites alongside subtle olive green shades and amber yellow hues.

Florists, Chiara Sperti Floral Events used delicate flowers such as chamomile, white lilac, olive branches, feather-like pampas, white ranunculus and roses to create to the wonderful floral decorations including a spectacular suspended floral arch that sat in front of the fountain.

Mark and Lucy both held their preparations in the Villa, which provided the perfect setting for my style of natural light wedding photography. I’ve written before about perfect bridal preparation photography and Villa Medicea di Lilliano gave me everything I could wish for! Lucy’s Marianna Lanzilli wedding dress suited her amazingly well and her Sibo Designs accessories were the ideal finishing touch.

Once the couple were both ready, we moved outside for the first look and oh my goodness, what an amazing moment this was. I don’t mind admitting that this Tuscan wedding photographer shed a little tear as this delightful couple enjoyed their special moment together.

The intimate ceremony was followed by a typically Italian celebration with food aplenty and even little bottles of locally produced olive oil as wedding favours. Gemma Milly’s organic stationery suite and the refined elegance of the cake by Opera Waiting 100% Nature were the dreamiest of finishing touches.

I can’t tell you what an honour it was to be part of this romantic elopement. Working so closely with Mark and Lucy as their destination wedding photographer in Tuscany was a treat I’ll never forget and I’d like to thank them for allowing me to be part of their day.

Finally, when I published the pre-wedding shoot, I mentioned that the wedding itself would be on the internationally acclaimed wedding blog, Magnolia Rouge. I’m delighted to say that this feature has now been published so do take a look if you can.

I love to photograph destination engagement shoots as well as weddings so do get in touch if you’d like to know more! I’m an experienced Italian wedding photographer so would be thrilled to work with you.
